Channel 4, in association with The Wellcome Trust brought this one hour programme to our screens, narrated by Richard Armitage.
It's the most extreme race on earth: a contest with 250 million competitors, only one winner and numerous obstacles thrown in for good measure. The Great Sperm Race tells the story of human conception as it's never been told before, as helicopter-mounted cameras, world-renowned scientists, computer imagery and dramatic reconstruction bring to life the extraordinary journey of sperm - from ejaculation to egg - scaled up to human size and with the sperm played by real people.
